Privacy Policy for GTSyncD

Last Updated: August 2026

GTSyncD (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our application.

The core function of GTSyncD is to synchronize and manage user to-do lists by interacting directly with Google Tasks.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

When you authorize GTSyncD to connect to your Google Account, we request access to your Google Tasks data (read and write permissions).

We access this data strictly to provide the core functionality of the app: reading your current tasks and writing updates or new tasks to keep your lists synchronized. We do not request scopes for, access, read, or sync your Gmail, Google Drive files, Google Calendar events, or any other Google Workspace services.

2. Google API Data Usage (Limited Use Policy)

GTSyncD’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy

, including the Limited Use requirements.

To ensure your data remains secure, we strictly enforce the following limitations regarding your Google API data:

  • No Advertising: We strictly prohibit the use of your Google API data for serving advertisements, retargeting, or personalized marketing.
  • No Data Brokers: We do not sell, trade, or transfer your Google API data to third-party data brokers or aggregators.
  • No Human Access: Our developers and administrators will not read your Google Tasks data unless you provide explicit affirmative consent for a specific support request, or it is strictly necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse) or to comply with applicable laws.

3. Data Storage and Utilization

To provide continuous synchronization, GTSyncD stores task synchronization mappings, metadata, and relevant user task documents within Google Cloud Firestore. The data stored is strictly limited to the information necessary to maintain state and synchronize your to-do lists between your Google account and the GTSyncD application.

4. Data Protection Mechanisms

Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. All Google user data processed by GTSyncD is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols. Persistent user data and synchronization metadata stored by our backend infrastructure are secured using AES-256 encryption at rest.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your Google user data and synchronization metadata only for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to provide the GTSyncD service.

  • In-App Data Deletion: Users can delete individual tasks, clear completed tasks, reset all board and task data stored in our database, or disconnect their Google Account at any time directly via the in-app Settings menu.
  • Account Deletion Requests: You may request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data stored in our database by contacting us at drbiernd@gmail.com. Upon receiving your request, all your data, credentials, and records will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.
  • Revoking Access: You can revoke GTSyncD’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account Security Settings. When access is revoked, GTSyncD can no longer access or synchronize your Google Tasks data.

6. Contact Information
