6 Horizons of Focus NUDGES Expert System The Action Compass NAG AI Assistant Specialized Workflows Weekly Review Ritual Interactive FAQ

🎯 The 6 Horizons of Focus (Altitudes)

GTSyncD seamlessly binds ground-level daily execution directly to high-altitude vision and life purpose.

Horizon 5 • 50,000+ ft

Purpose & Principles

The ultimate standard for decision making. Why do you exist? What are your non-negotiable core values?

Horizon 4 • 40,000 ft

3–5 Year Vision

Long-term aspirations, organizational trajectory, lifestyle design, and career milestones.

Horizon 3 • 30,000 ft

1–2 Year Goals

Specific strategic outcomes and major milestones to achieve over the next 12 to 24 months.

Horizon 2 • 20,000 ft

Areas of Focus (The Garden)

Ongoing roles and accountabilities (e.g., Health, Finances, Team Leadership, Family).

Horizon 1 • 10,000 ft

Projects (Multi-Step)

Any commitment requiring $>1$ physical action to finish within 12 months. Requires an active Next Action.

Ground Level • Runway

Next Physical Actions

Discrete, atomic physical tasks executable in the current moment (e.g., Call, Draft, Email, Buy).

🛡️ NUDGES: Next UnDecided GTD Expert System

The Next UnDecided GTD Expert System (NUDGES) continuously audits system state across 9 integrity vectors, computing your real-time System Integrity Score (0–100%) and providing proactive coaching to prevent cognitive drift and task paralysis.

Mode 1 • Low Pressure

Gentle Mode

No board lockdowns. 1-click momentum refresh on idle projects. Action Compass shows top 10 actions for broad selection.

Mode 2 • Proactive Coaching

Balanced Mode (Recommended)

Pulsing drift banner. Highlights non-physical vague verbs. Action Compass reserves slot #1 for System Repair.

Mode 3 • High Discipline

Enforcer Mode

Locks tactical boards during drift, directing focus to the System Integrity Dashboard. Includes a 1-Hour Emergency Override.

🧠 Neurodivergent-Friendly Coaching Guardrails:
  • Anti-Shame Hard Floor: Overdue penalty capped at 40 pts max (score never drops below 60% due to overdue items).
  • Track B Micro-Review: Facing 10+ stale inbox items? Clarify just one item with a 2-hour snooze option.
  • Cognitive List Bloat Valve: Warns when a board exceeds 20 tasks, offering 1-click deferral to Someday/Maybe.
  • Streak Protection: Consecutive weekly reviews award protective buffers (forgiving 1–3 stale inbox items).

🧭 The Action Compass (Smart Triage)

Eliminates choice overload using David Allen’s 4-Fold Decision Model for choosing actions in the moment.

1. Context & Geofence

Automatically filters tasks based on GPS coordinates (Home vs. Work vs. Errands) or manual context selection.

2. Energy Matching

Filters out high-energy tasks when your battery is Low, preventing exhaustion. Overdue tasks bypass to allow urgent repairs.

3. Time Available

Matches action duration against your open time window before your next calendar meeting.

4. Altitude Ranking

Ranks eligible tasks by Horizon altitude (H5 Purpose down to H1 Projects) to ensure strategic impact.

✨ NAG — Next Actions Guru (Natural Planning AI)

Deconstructs complex or ambiguous project outcomes into crisp, physical Next Actions.

5 Levels of Granularity

Powered by Gemini AI

Adjust the slider from Level 1 (Lumper) for broad phases down to Level 5 (Splitter) for micro-actions (“embarrassingly small steps” designed to conquer executive paralysis).

  • Action Verbs Only: Enforces observable physical action verbs (Call, Draft, Email, Buy).
  • Conjunction Ban: Eliminates “and”, “or”, and “while” from titles, forcing discrete single steps.
  • Parallel Threads & Dependencies: Groups actions into workstreams with sequential locking (QUEUED badge).

⚡ Specialized GTD Workflows

Delegation Bridge

“Waiting For” Interceptor

Moving a task to “Waiting For” automatically prompts for Assignee, Channel, and Follow-Up date. Cleanses “WAITING:” prefixes upon return.

Tickler File

Time-Locked Incubation

Tasks placed in Tickler sleep until their trigger date, keeping your context lists lean. Matures into a GHOST item on wake-up.

Momentum Guard

Last Action Completed

Checking off the last action of a project prompts: “Project Complete?” or “What’s the Next Action?”—preventing projects from becoming dead-end zombies.

📅 The Guided Weekly Review Ritual

The master habit for maintaining absolute trust in your system. Step through the 8-phase guided wizard:

❓ Interactive FAQ & Troubleshooting

Do I need a Google account or Google Tasks to use GTSyncD?
No! GTSyncD is 100% standalone by default. It operates independently on desktop and mobile (via the high-performance PWA) with its own real-time encrypted cloud storage, multi-tab offline database, and full feature suite (Horizons, NUDGES, Action Compass, NAG AI, and Weekly Review). Connecting to Google Tasks is a completely optional integration for users who want Google ecosystem tools—such as voice capture via Google Assistant / Gemini, task views in the Google Calendar sidebar, or triage in Gmail.
How does optional Google Tasks synchronization work?
GTSyncD comes with the complete prescribed GTD setup out of the box. When you link your Google Account, GTSyncD scans your existing lists: if the corresponding GTD boards do not exist in Google Tasks, GTSyncD creates them for you automatically. Tasks created or updated in GTSyncD mirror to Google Tasks in real time, and parent-child project relationships are encoded safely in brackets inside Google Task notes (e.g., Parent: [[proj-123]]).
What is the difference between a QUEUED task and a GHOST task?
  • QUEUED (Gray Badge): Subordinated actions that depend on a preceding task. They are indented and wait until the parent task is checked off.
  • GHOST (Purple Badge): Standalone items (such as matured ticklers) that have reached their wake-up date and are awaiting user triage.
How do I unlock boards if Enforcer Mode engages a lockdown?
You have two options:
  1. Resolve System Drift: Clear stale inbox items, add missing next actions to stalled projects, or renegotiate overdue tasks on the System Integrity Dashboard.
  2. Engage Emergency Override: Click the “Emergency Override” button to unlock tactical boards for 60 minutes.
Can I install GTSyncD on my mobile phone?
Yes! GTSyncD is a Progressive Web App (PWA). In Safari on iOS, tap Share → “Add to Home Screen”. In Chrome on Android, tap the three dots → “Install App”. It supports offline operation and quick capture mode.

⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts & Global Quick Capture

Global OS Hotkey: Launch Capture from any app (Configured in Settings → Shortcuts, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+C)
Ctrl + Enter: Save & commit task edit
Ctrl + K: Insert markdown link dialog
Enter: Submit new task in capture bar
Esc: Close active modal or drawer
